This policy explains what information I collect and how I use it.
What Information I Collect
I collect your email address and basic profile information in three ways:
- Newsletter Sign-up: If you subscribe to my newsletter, I keep your email to send you updates (usually weekly, sometimes less).
- Contact Form: If you message me through the "Connect With Me" form, I keep your message and email to respond.
- Membership Account: If you create an account (via Google sign-in), I store your email and name to manage your membership and content access.
How Long I Keep Your Information
- Newsletter emails: Until you unsubscribe. Email me to unsubscribe. I'll add an automatic unsubscribe button later.
- Contact messages: Automatically deleted after one year.
- Membership accounts: Until you delete your account. If you cancel a paid subscription, your account moves to free tier (access to some content) unless you delete it entirely.
How I Use Your Information
- Emails: Sent through Gmail or Amazon SES. Google/Amazon processes your emails per their privacy policies.
- Authentication: Google handles login authentication per their privacy policy.
- Analytics: I use Umami (privacy-focused analytics) to understand site usage. No personal tracking.
- Subscription status: Stored in my database to manage your content access level.
I don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone else. If I send promotional content in my newsletter, I'll mark it clearly in the subject line.
Cookies and Sessions
I use essential cookies only for keeping you logged in if you have a membership account. These are necessary for the site to work.

Payment Processing
I use third-party payment processors for subscriptions. They handle all payment information according to their privacy policies. I don't store your card details or any financial information. Transaction history is maintained by the payment processor, not by me.
Content Access Levels
Articles are classified as:
- Public (anyone can read)
- Free tier (requires account)
- Members-only (requires paid subscription)
Your Rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter (email me)
- Delete contact messages (email me)
- Delete your membership account and all associated data (email me or use account settings)
- Request a copy of your data (email me)
